DOGS ARE NOT HARAM, WE MALAY-MUSLIMS SHOULD ADOPT DOGS & GIVE THEM LOVE TOO

I love this picture so much. Why? Because it's so iconoclastic. It destroys the image that no dogs should exist in the world of Malay-Muslims. We've been told since young how 'unclean' dogs are when in fact, the Quran (the central text in our faith) permits us to eat food caught by hunting dogs!!! So with all the contact made by a hunting dog (rubbing, biting, clawing), the food is STILL halal!

OVERTURN BAN ON CATS IN HDB NOW, NO ONE ACTUALLY PAYING ATTENTION TO THE BAN AT ALL

Read in the news today that the Cat Welfare Society (CWS) president, Ms Thenuga Vijakumar, has made overturning the ban on cats in HDB flats as one of her long term goals. This ban on cats has been in place since HDB's inception in 1960.

Some progress has been made - a pilot project for residents in Chong Pang to keep their feline companions in their flats was launched in 2012. Talks on funding to extend the scheme to two more precincts are ongoing. Once again, the debate between cats and dogs will be opened up. Most will ask why, if dogs are allowed in HDB cats, then cats are not allowed. After all, there are already thousands of cats living in HDB flats. Thus, by legitimising their ownership, this will allow for better education and enforcement against errant owners.
