MORE DOCTORS FOUND TO ACT UNETHICALLY

According to the Singapore Medical Council (SMC), complaints against doctors increased by nearly 30% , while the legal expenses chalked up by the council for disciplinary proceedings also shot up last year compared to the previous year. What is happening to doctors nowadays? Where did all the good doctors run to? So many doctors now disciplined for breaches of ethical codes and guidelines, means that more doctors are now caught for being unethical. And service quality dropping? Why like that?

TAN TOCK SENG SPECIALISTS WERE UNPROFESSIONAL IN TREATING MY MEDICAL CONDITION!

Singapore's Tan Tock Seng Hospital's orthopaedic surgery department is most immoral, lousy and most unprofessional. Singapore doctors very seldom explain automatically the effectiveness of the treatments they suggested or listen to the patient's prior opinion before carrying out patient examination or treatment. There is often a waste of time and make the patients feel very unpleasant and in very bad mood.

DO S’POREANS HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE TREATMENT BY INCOMPETENT FOREIGN DOCTORS?

I was in SGH to see a bone & nerve specialist. I was attended by two junior doctors one of whom is a local and the other, obviously, a trainee FT from India. While the local doctor asked related questions to understand my complaints, the FT kept quiet most of the time but when he spoke, it was irrelevant questions! I fear that such doctors when phased in spells disasters if not, bad choice of Singaporeans looking for a medical cure.

PATIENT FEELS CHEATED AFTER BEING DENIED INSURANCE CLAIM FOR SGH TREATMENT

This incident described my unfortunate encounter I have with SGH. On 16 Apr 2015, I visited the ENT clinic at SGH for a check up referred by polyclinic doctor. It was my first time doing the check up there for ENT. I was asked by the doctor to do a series of check up including nasal and hearing test which I supposed are the standard test there to see whether I have any problem.

DOCTORS SAY AVOID SASHIMI AND RAW FISH FOR THE TIME BEING?

Please avoid sashimi n raw fish this season. Just a heads up. My friend's husband was admitted into hospital abt 10 days ago. Had high fever, joint pain. He was diagnosed with grp B strep bacteria infection. From eating raw fish. He ate sashimi at tam po po at liang court 2 days and raw fish in chinatown 5 days before fever.He ended up with 2 surgery and may have to go thru knee replacement surgery cos the bacteria infected his joints n ate away his cartiledge.
