LHL LIFTING OF PARTY WHIP SHOWS PAP DONT ALLOW QUESTIONS USUALLY

What on earth does PM Lee mean when he says he is "lifting the whip" for the parliamentary sitting on 3 July? Lifting the whip is only for voting on bills. In this case, no bill is under consideration. He's just planning to make a statement. If he means that PAP members of parliament will be free to ask any question or make any comment they wish, then it has always been their right as MPs whether or not the whip is lifted. This simply goes to show that the PAP does not ordinarily allow its MPs to ask any question or make any comment they deem appropriate in parliament UNLESS the PM says (in a misuse of the term) the whip is lifted.

HAN HUI HUI: MALAYSIA MUCH BETTER THAN SINGAPORE IN TOLERATING DISSENT

According to 23 year-old Singapore activist Han Hui Hui, Malaysia is much more tolerant of dissent as compared to Singapore, even though K.L. recently denied entry to Hong Kong Umbrella Revolution activist Joshua Wong. Han is in Malaysia to give talks on youth activism in Singapore in remembrance of the bloody PRC Tiananmen Square crackdown in 1989. She says that Singapore does not allow any foreign speakers in for such talks.

The logical conclusion of the spread of hate and distrust towards our policemen by bloggers is this : soon we will have community tension with police, people will start verbally abusing them. And this will end with attacks on the police. It has already happened in other countries. If hate-sites like The Real Singapore and dissident-bloggers like those from The Online Citizen are not stopped from spreading lies and hate towards our police, we will have rivers of blood on our streets.
