BF TAKING SCDF JOB, DREAMS OF POSH WEDDING OVER

To me personally, army is still ok but police or SCDF is low class jobs done by "some people" only. I tried to convince my bf because he has a degree why should he do that kind of job. But all those pleas fell on death ears. I feel like i need to save my parents face too. And with that kind of manual labor job i can forget about having a posh wedding.

NOT ENOUGH JOBS FOR DEGREE HOLDERS, WE HAVE BEEN TRICKED BY THE GOVT

There's something I want to tell everyone. You're being gaslighted by the PAP. Getting a degree gets you a pay level that's supposed to be acceptable, but now it's no longer so. The truth is there're not enough jobs to go around for degree grads who are expecting degree level pay, even entry pay like 3k a month.

So the government tells you to either upgrade or no need to study degree because it's unnecessary. So the degree is unnecessary, because the truth is there're not enough jobs to go around for you and if you do not have a degree, you wouldn't have expectations of a degree level pay. Basically, you've done all you need for basic achievement in life but you are being punished for being inefficient simply because your government is blaming the failure of the system on you, and not themselves.

LOCAL UNIVERSITIES TO ALLOW ARTS AND SPORTS TALENT JOIN THEIR ELITE RANKS

Good to know that even though Singapore places its values on grades, there are still avenues to get a place in our local universities if you are talented enough in your chosen field, such as the arts and sports. This will only encourage students that being creative and good in their other fields are also ways to get to that dream degree of theirs. After all, why should grades be the end all and be all for everything?

FEWER FOREIGN STUDENTS TURNING TO SG FOR STUDIES, PRIVATE EDUCATION IN DECLINE

In 2012, there were 100,000 locals and 35,000 foreign students studying in private schools in Singapore. By 2015, the number has fallen to 77,000 locals and 29,000 foreigners. In 2016, Singapore saw the closure of 25 private schools due to fewer foreign students coming in to fill enrollment numbers. The Committee For Private Education (CPE) says a total of 42 schools were de-registered in 2015 and 2016 alone.

MOE REJECTS NUS MUSIC GRADUATE AMIS APPLICATION BECAUSE HE DID NOT PROVIDE ABRSM GRADE 5 QUALIFICATION

An NUS music graduate looking to renew his Arts and Music Instructor Scheme (AMIS) licence has been rejected by the Ministry of Education because he did not furnish them with at least an The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) grade 5 qualification even though he attached his Bachelor of Music degree as his highest professional music qualification. An ABRSM grade 5 is equivalent to GCSE 'O' levels. Does MOE think that a music degree from our local university is not as good as a lesser qualification from a UK examinations board?

MOE ASKS LOCALS NOT TO STUDY IN UNIVERSITY, SO NOW NUS RECRUIT STUDENTS FROM INDIA?

I was looking through the NUS internet yesterday, checking for admissions for my younger sister when I chanced upon this advertisement for INDIA students to apply for places in NUS? Like only 20% of our local students can get into university only, so why they still need to recruit from other countries? Does the PAP think we are dumb to not notice all this?
