Lawyer Khush Chopra Wary About The Public Gallery Seats Given Out During Leong Sze Hian's Defamation Suit

According to news reports, all tickets for this open Court hearing were snapped up by 7AM this morning. This revelation caused lawyer Khush Chopra to comment "I wonder who knew the unusually early time that queue numbers would be issued and that only 20 seats in the public gallery would be available. I’m not sure you can say that this trial is being conducted in open court that anyone is allowed to attend in these circumstances."

Assuming that these allegations against Lim Tean were pre-existing and not something that would just appear out of nowhere, why did the police specifically muscled into Lim Tean's office one week before that Libel suit ? It could easily be a subtle message to hold his tongue in the presence of Lee Hsien Loong

In a blow to local sporting arena, the state media reported that Singapore Athletics (SA) had banned Poh Seng Song from holding any office position within the jurisdiction of SA and/or its affiliates for two terms. Poh Seng Song was slapped with this ban after a Board of Inquiry (BOI) convened by SA allegedly concluded that he was “very likely” the person who had leaked a WhatsApp message the current Honorary Secretary, Eric Song, had made about national pole vaulter Rachel Yang and her coach/husband David Yeo.

Phil Robertson of Human Rights Watch (‪‎HRW‬) has released his statement on the defamation suit against ‪‎Singapore‬ blogger Roy Ngerng by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. In his statement, Phil Robertson slammed Lee for behaving just like his deceased father, Lee Kuan Yew, in threatening his opponents with defamation lawsuits. He said that this defamation suit says a lot about Singapore's leaders disregard for freedom of expression and their insecurities.
