PM LEE CAN SUE HIS SIBLINGS BUT SEEK NO DAMAGES TO CLEAR HIS NAME

There is a simple way to resolve the dilemma as to whether PM Lee should sue his siblings, without getting all conflicted or writing a thesis. PM Lee can sue LHY and LWL for defamation and seek nominal damages. That way, he can preserve his reputation and that of his office, and show that he doesn't practice double standards when his character and integrity are impugned.

OXLEY RD DISPUTE SHOWS DIFFERENT LAWS FOR ELITES, HOW CAN WE "NORMAL PPL" BE CONFIDENT?

Our reader is disappointed by the Oxley Road dispute as it shows double standards in Singapore - one set of laws for the elite, and another for ordinary Singaporeans. LHY and LWL are allowed to cast aspersions at the PM over a course of 2 weeks without facing any legal action while less powerful Singaporeans are subjected to the law of defamation and lawsuit if they do the same.

"How do you explain, Mr Tharman, this double standards? You said... 'Have confidence, folks.' Perhaps you should try on the shoes of those who have been sued, bankrupted or gone into exile. As one who supports you being PM, I am disappointed at your nonchalance in this saga."

LEE HSIEN LOONG SAY HE REFUSE TO SUE HIS SIBLINGS, DESPITE STRONG CASE OF DEFAMATION AGAINST THEM

Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said in his Parliamentary speech that he would not sue his siblings despite them making reckless allegations against him and the integrity of the Government. He said that the allegations did not have any substance and arose from their differing viewpoints over the house at Oxley road. Lee said under other circumstances, he would have sued those who spewed such baseless allegations immediately but by suing his own brother and sister, it would further tarnish and besmirch his parent's names.

DOES LHL DARE SUE & JAIL HIS DISSENTING SIBLINGS FOR DEFAMATION?

The next big question, would Hsien Loong dare to sue his brother and sister, the children of Lee Kuan Yew, or put them behind bars for whatever charges? The loyalists and the old guards would not allow it, the cabinet ministers would not allow it, the people of Singapore would not accept it. Doing so would be the downfall of Hsien Loong and the PAP, I think.
