DESPERATE LOANSHARK RUNNER DROVE OFF WHILE POLICEMAN WAS HANGING ON TO CAR DOOR

The police had spotted him in his car during his loan shark runner stint, and had asked him to step out of his car. Instead of stepping out, he continued driving, causing one police officer, who was holding his car door, to lose his footing and fall to the ground. The officer, who suffered superficial injuries, and his partner continued chasing after Zhou.

While trying to flee, Zhou slammed his car into the bumper and sides of two other nearby cars. It was revealed in court that Zhou became a loandshark runner after he could not pay off his debts owned to a loanshark known as Dominique, and he has been working for Dominique since December 2015.

VEGETABLE STALL OWNER REFUSE TO PAY UP, THREATEN DEBT COLLECTORS WITH CHOPPER

A woman who works at a vegetable stall at Jurong West market threatened her debt collectors with a 10cm-long chopper. The 4 debt collectors had approached her to claim her $20,000 debt when she brandished a knife at them and dared them to stab her. When asked by police, she said she was using the knife in self defence as she was "bullied" by the debt collectors who even threatened to kill her husband.

Not sure if the debt collectors were being "nice", but they actually went to her stall with a sign that read "debt collection in progress, do not panic". Who bully who, like that? Auntie so daring siol!

MY EX-BF WANTS TO RECONCILE BUT REFUSES TO PAY BACK MY MONEY

Our reader complained about an ex-boyfriend who owed her money but wants to patch up without having to pay her back. CGH SENDS DEBT COLLECTORS TO RECOVER $37 UNPAID HOSPITAL BILL, GETS LECTURED BY BRAVE S'PORE MAN

Facebook user Manfred Tan uploaded a 25 min long telephone conversation between an angry CGH patient and the staff of CGH's business department. In it, the patient railed at the CGH staff for using legal debt collectors to recover the $37 he owed to the hospital. He claimed that the debt collector's tone was harsh and it intimidated his wife and kids. For most of the conversation, the CGH staff was dumbstruck and could not respond to the Singaporean man's incisive questioning on why the Govt needs to use such heartless tactics to recover a paltry sum like $37.

MAN ASHAMED OF PARENTS WHO BORROW MONEY JUST TO LOOK RICH DURING CNY

While people are renting a boyfriend during CNY, my parents are "renting" money so that we can have enough to buy oranges, clothes and to give Hong Baos to our relatives' children so as to prevent our relatives from looking down on our plight. However, my parents are very traditional and 爱面子, so they will usually get into a lot of debts for CNY, then there will be a lot of quarrels over money subsequently after CNY.
