Canadian bank robber David James Roach who robbed a Stanchart branch in Holland Village, Singapore is still being held by Thai authorities and is now investigated for failing to declare more than US$20,000 when he entered the country. This comes 7 months after he was arrested and detained in Thailand for robbing the singapore bank of more than $30,000 on 7 July 2016.

S’PORE POLICE STRUGGLES TO NAB STANCHART BANK ROBBER IN THAI DETENTION
Canadian national David James Roach, suspected of robbing a Standard Chartered Bank in Holland Village on 7 July 2016 is currently still in Thailand after efforts made by Singapore authorities to get him repatriated were stalled. As Thailand and Singapore do not have an extradition treaty, the authorities are still communicating with the Thai government, hoping for his repatriation and return of evidence seized from him.

According to reports, the man behind the Standard Chartered robbery is 26 year old David James Roach, a Canadian. The first time visitor to Singapore had robbed the Holland Village branch of S$30,000 on 7 July. He left Singapore for Bangkok on the same day. The suspect was arrested on Sunday (10 Jul) at a backpackers hostel in Bangkok's Pratunam district. According to a source from Interpol Bangkok, Roach has been to Thailand many times.
