It was an ICA officer who first raised the alarm, when Mr Yusaini Abdul Rahim, 41, who was working at the Changi Ferry Terminal, saw the crocodile on Monday morning while out on patrol. He contacted the AVA and NParks to inform them about the sighting. He spotted the crocodile again on Wednesday, and took photos and videos of it.

National Water Agency PUB has suspended all water sports activities in Marina Reservoir after members of the public sighted a creature that looks like a crocodile in the reservoir waters near Sports Hub. On Friday afternoon (14 October 2016), Singapore's blogfather Mr Brown posted a warning on Facebook advising those who visit the Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve to stay alert when jogging or walking because a friend of his had spotted a crocodile just metres away from the walking track. As long as precautions are taken, joggers stay alert during their runs in the nature reserve and stay clear of the crocodiles, it should be safe. An elderly woman committed suicide by jumping into a pond full of crocodiles, it has been reported. Wanpen Inyai, 65, was torn apart after apparently throwing herself into a pit with more than 1,000 crocodiles at a zoo in Bangkok, Thailand. A disturbing picture was posted online reportedly showing a crocodile approaching her moments before she was attacked. Police said they arrived at the scene to find zoo keepers and staff desperately trying to ward off dozens of reptiles which were feasting on her body.
