CAT B COE PRICES CRASH TO S$38,610, FAR LOWER THAN SMALL CAR COE

In the latest COE bidding exercise, all premiums went down with Cateory B COE crashing by $11,479 to $38,610. This was much lower than Category A vehicles which closed at $46,651. Open category COE which can be used for any vehicle type fell by $7,000 to $44,001. Motorcycle premiums stayed high with a minute drop of $9 to close at a crazy $6,503.

I wish to expose the double standards of petrol companies in Singapore. Whenever oil prices surge, they adjust petrol prices almost instantly. Now that oil prices have crashed to twelve year lows, petrol prices did not dip in tandem but only moderately. Why is this the case? When it benefits them and enable companies to make more profits, they speedily push up petrol prices but when it's time to return savings to consumers, they cite all kinds of excuses of their slow decrease.

SBS BUS CRASHES INTO NTU CAMPUS BUS STOP, UPROOTS NEARBY LAMP POST

An SBS Transit Service 179 bus crashed into a bus stop in Nanyang Technological University (NTU) close to the School of Biological Sciences on Tuesday morning. The impact of the crash uprooted a nearby lamp post. Apart from damage to the bumper and front windscreen, no passengers or commuters waiting at the bus stop were hurt in the accident.

TAXI DRIVER INVOLVED IN PASIR RIS CRASH VIDEO DIES

A taxi driver in his 70s who was captured on video crashing into a car has died from his injuries, MP for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC Zainal Sapari said on his Facebook page on Monday. Mr Zainal, who had been in a car behind the two vehicles when the incident happened on Saturday, uploaded footage from his car camera of the crash, which he described as "horrific". On Monday, he wrote on his Facebook page that the taxi driver's family told him that the man had died. Mr Zainal, who had rendered help when the accident happened, said he was saddened to hear the news.

Home prices in Singapore will decline at a steeper pace, falling by 20 per cent between this year and 2016, as economic restructuring as well as property and loan curbs continue to weigh on the housing market, Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) said in its research report released Tuesday (Sep 9). “Overly tight population policies will imply the dominance of ageing-resident demographics over the influx of younger non-resident workforce. Delays in relaxing property measures would imply a greater negative impact from rising mortgage rates,” said BAML economist Chua Hak Bin.

LAMBORGHINI CRASHES INTO TREE NEAR NATIONAL LIBRARY, 300M AWAY FROM 2012 DEADLY FERRARI CRASH

A Lamborghini crashed into a tree in the early hours of Friday (Aug 15) near the National Library on Victoria Street. This happened in the vicinity of the fatal Ferrari crash two years ago, just 300m away from the 2012 accident that claimed three lives. TRANSASIA FLIGHT CRASHES IN TAIWAN, AT LEAST 45 DEAD

At least 45 people were killed in a plane crash in Taiwan on Wednesday, officials said, with local television reporting the flight had smashed into two houses after an aborted landing. Authorities said Taiwanese airline TransAsia Airways flight GE222, with 58 on board, crashed near Magong airport on the outlying Penghu island after having requested a second attempt to land. Television images showed firefighters working at site of the mangled wreckage and soldiers on the scene.

MAS MH17 CRASH: SEVEN PASSENGERS BOUND FOR SINGAPORE

Seven passengers on board a Malaysia Airlines flight that crashed over eastern Ukraine on Thursday were bound for Singapore via Kuala Lumpur. At least three were Dutch nationals, The Straits Times has learnt. It is not known if any of the other four were Singaporeans.

MALAYSIAN PLANE CARRYING 295 PASSENGERS CRASHES IN UKRAINE

Interfax news agency are claiming that a Malaysian passenger plane has crashed in Ukraine, near the Russian border. "A Boeing Malaysian Airlines that was fyling from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur began to descend about 50km before entering Russian airspace, and was subsequently found burning on the ground in Ukraine," an aviation source told Interfax.
