COMPLAINT: COURTS WASTED MY TIME AND NEEDS TO IMPROVE THEIR SERVICE

I am extremely dissatisfied with Courts Singapore. My delivery for fridge, washing machine, stove and oven did not arrive at all today, despite my receipt stating clearly that the deliveries would be today. Made a few calls and even went down to Courts to physically reschedule the deliveries. Wasted my off-day today.

POLICEMAN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR KOVAN DOUBLE MURDERS

36 year-old Iskandar Rahmat, a disgraced former police officer who fell into debt and faced expulsion from the Singapore Police Force, was sentenced to death by hanging on Friday by the High Court after he was convicted of both charges of murdering a father and son in their Kovan home.

COURT STAYS EXECUTION FOR MURDERER AMIDST INTERNATIONAL PRESSURE

With 24 hours left before he was to be hanged for his crimes, Malaysian murderer Kho Jabing received a stay of execution on his death sentence. Jabing's lawyers had filed a criminal motion yesterday at the Singapore Court of Appeals to request a remittance of his case. The court granted the stay of execution but has not mentioned when the case will be mentioned again.

HIGH COURT UPHOLDS THAIPUSAM INSTRUMENT BAN

In the courts today, Justice Tay Yong Kwang of the High Court dismissed a challenge against the ban on playing musical instruments during the Hindu procession, Thaipusam. 3 concerned Singaporeans, R. Vijaya Kumar, Balasubramaniam and M. Sathiamoorthy, who participated in this year's Thaipusam, had applied to challenge the ban earlier this year. They wanted to see the allowing of musical instruments such as the urumqi to be played at next year's event.

PASTED FAKE NUMBER PLATES ON FERRARI NOT TO ESCAPE TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS, SAYS 25 YEAR-OLD BUSINESSMAN

25 year-old Eugene Chong Jiajun wanted to live out his fantasy of driving an expensive, high powered sports car. So he rented a Ferrari, pasted 2 false license plates that he got off the internet, and drove around. His joy ride came to an end however when he was pulled over by a Land Transport Authority (LTA) officer for a check on 19th March 2013. Chong was driving a yellow Ferrari 360 Modena F1 at the time. His number plate showed SQ1H, which was registered to a silver Mercedes Benz E200 belonging to another unrelated owner.
