SINGAPORE NOW CHEAPER FOR FTS DUE TO WEAKENING S'PORE DOLLAR

Singapore's cost of living has fallen for expatriates living here, says a report by ECA International. According to the report, Singapore now ranks 24th in the list of locations most expensive for expats, as compared to 18th last year. This is the first time Singapore has fallen out of the 20 top ranking position.

The govt only cares about profits and more profits..... it is the dollars game. Why would they bother about cost of living when ministers all earn millions? Besides, none of the govt ministers and MPs live in any HDB flat, for that matter. They will never understand the peoples' problems like cost of living.

COE, ERP AND WATER ALL INCREASED, WHAT'S NEXT?

Why does the PAP continue to INCREASE the cost of living in Singapore during a recession? In times of economic uncertainty, they raise the cost of water, the most important resource to keep on living, all while maintaining their high salaries.

With the recent increase in motorbike COE and introduction of more ERPs, I wonder what will be the next decree that will drill holes in our pockets.

IF COST OF BEING S'POREAN GOES UNCHECKED, SG MAY LOSE TO MALAYSIA

I was in Langkawi from 12 to 15 February and spoke to about 10 people about life in general. In particular, I talked to a taxi driver who had worked in Singapore for about six years before returning to Langkawi. He said although he earns much less now as a taxi driver in Langkawi - about RM3,500 a month - he is much happier.

KOREAN SHOCKED AT HOW BAD S'PORE HAS BECOME AFTER 10 YEARS

My Korean friend got a shock when he visited Singapore after more than 10 years. He last visited Singapore in 2005 and was impressed with the efficiency of our public transport and good and cheap food. When he visited Singapore last week, he got stunned at how bad Singapore has become just after 10 years.
