HOW COME WE PAY PROPERTY TAX FOR HOUSE WE SUPPOSEDLY OWN?

Having already paid thousands upon thousands for our dream house, be it HDB or condo or anything else with a roof, every year, we also need to pay the government taxes for what is essentially, a house we own. Of course, the house we own, we will never fully pay for it until maybe 30 years down the road, but still, it is our house. We paid for it to purchase it from HDB, not loan it. So, property tax? Explanation from the govt is of course, property tax helps to fund children education, help the elderly in their medical facilities, and even help ordinary Singaporeans have a recreational space by funding all the parks in SG.

SCDF DART TEAM MAKES DARING RESCUE OF SUICIDAL GIRL

Passer-bys were horrified when she passed by Thomson Road today, Nov 6, and saw a woman sitting on the ledge at Cube 8 Condo, along Thomson Road. At what looks like about twelve-storeys high, the woman sat with her legs dangling over the edge. In the photos, Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) personnel was rescuing her and other residents were also looking out for her. As of 6pm today, the SCDF has successfully rescued the lady.

Condo rental yield dips below 4%

Non-landed private residential rental yield fell below 4 per cent last year, the Singapore Real Estate Exchange (SRX) said today (Jan 17). Overall, the median gross rental yield for non-landed private residential properties dropped from 4.2 per cent to 3.9 per cent last year.
