Khaw Boon Wan said the failure of SMRT staff in the flooding incident have made the good work of others go to waste. He said it has tarnished Singapore's reputation but encouraged commuters to show appreciation to public transport workers whenever they can.

A commuter who needs a walking aid was grateful to a patient SMRT bus captain who waited for him to get on the bus. He said this is not the first time the bus captain waited quite a while for his passengers. Ups la uncle!

In short SMRT would be making on average a minimum of 50% profit on the commuter just for using the toilet. And even if one manages to beat the 15 mins grace period to tap in to the Blue line to continue the journey to Orchard, it would mean a circular route will have to be used which would lead to travel fares of at least $1 or more, again a minimum of $0.30 profit by SBS/SMRT just for using the toilet.

The SBS driver who bulldozed 4 motorcyclists had reportedly stepped on the wrong pedal while waiting for the lights to turn green. According to news reports, he panicked and tried to swerve right in order to avoid hitting the motorcyclists although it was too late. The driver has been suspended as investigations are ongoing.
