A Singaporean man's post have gone viral, in reminding everyone that their role models need not be a celebrity, an athlete or some rich movie superstars. Instead, their role models can be closer to home and even closer to heart. That role model he was talking about is his own father, who just happened to be a man who works as a cleaner.

Mr Isah, 55 years old, is a father to three children. His youngest child, 20 years old, has just finished his education and will be enlisting into National Service this August. Mr Isah suffers from kidney failure, diabetes, hypertension and high blood pressure.

A reader shared about a woman who was accused of having no rights to use the handicap toilet. She went into the handicap toilet as she was pushing a stroller and could not get into the normal cubicle. A cleaner and supervisor at CompassOne then approached the toilet and started knocking to check if there was anyone inside. The woman said they could not hear her answer as they were talking loudly among themselves. They soon opened the door, leaving her exposed without her pants. She complained to the management but received a letter telling her she has no rights to use the handicap toilet as she is not handicapped. She has since reported this to the police.

For the past 3 months I have lunch in this kopi shop opposite Gordon Warehouse ( paya lebar ) which is opposite my workplace. Most times crowded and the dish collector uncle simply just parks the cart behind me and collects the dirty plates. Go report NEA ! “ At certain times, he even use his oily hand to remove my umbrella and tissue and why can’t they just park the cart abit far from customer? Have job still don’t know how to secure their rice bowl and make a big fuss when lost their job to foreigner.

Recently I was having dinner at Zheng hua community club coffee shop. To my shock I saw this town council cleaner was climbing on the ladder that was resting on the side of the roof top washing the link way roof top. The thing that caught me attention was a few time when he was washing the roof top with the hose he almost loss his balance and fell down but luckily he managed to got back his balance and continue the washing.

As usual, ST has again published a half truth because not all cleaners will get a guaranteed pay rise. But in its attempt to carry PAP’s balls, ST has actually shot its master and confirmed the non existence or uselessness of workers’ unions. That’s the positive part about the article.

I came across this posting by W L (his initials). It is ridiculous to believe that there are these type of Singaporeans! He argued that the deaf cleaner should not be in a special privilege class just because he is deaf. He says it is appropriate for the grassroot leader to berate and scream at the cleaner. I came back from my In-Camp-Training this evening after another fruitful day in green, only to be informed of a posting on the Fabrications about the PAP facebook page alleging that the Aljunied-Hougang Town Council’s cleaners had left a mess at the bin centre “for weeks”, or more precisely, "left to rot. For weeks". I messaged the Town Council staff for their side of the story. In about half an hour I received some pictures and a reply, “the cleaners were breaking and clearing bulky items into skip tanks. This is done almost on a daily basis during this period. The Bin Centre area is always cleared everyday and not as reported.”
