SCDF NSF: EMERGENCY PARAMEDICS SHOULD NOT BE DEALING WITH DRUNKS

I'm an SCDF NSF who recently ORD and wish to share some insights of the night duty, especially having to deal with party goers from Clark Quay/Mohd Sultan.

I felt that as an emergency paramedic supposed to deal with life threatening situations, instead it is totally a waste of time when resources have to be dispatched to attend to drunken who're either unresponsive due to severe intoxication or get injured due to provoked fighting.

AUSSIE MAN WHO ASSAULTED COP AT AIRPORT HAVE JAIL TERM EXTENDED

In the incident, Darragh, who was highly intoxicated, had six policemen to finally arrest him. After he was released on police bail, Darragh continued drinking and offending. On April 21, he caused annoyance to the public when drunk near Clarke Quay. And on April 26, he was found drunk at Orchard Towers and taken to hospital because of an injured leg. There, he verbally abused a police officer who was escorting him. On May 1, he was drunk yet again, causing annoyance to the public near Clarke Quay.

BRITON FT GETS JAIL FOR PUNCHING POLICE OFFICER

Briton Alex Arrash Ariana, 34, was drunk when he assaulted the officer outside the nightclub at Clarke Quay. The Briton frequently travels to Singapore for work, and he was here on a wrok assignment when the assault occurred.

The altercation started when the drunk man had an argument with the security manager of the club. The team of police officers had approached him to tell him to relax, but he started to behave aggressively towards the officer. The officers then proceeded to arrest him after he started being rowdy, but that was when he struck Chen.

THREE MEN CHARGED FOR CAUSING DEATH IN CLARKE QUAY FIGHT

Three men were charged for an incident at Clarke Quay that led to the death of 32 year old Jeffrey Tan Jun Jie.

The suspects are Fino Foo, Terence Tan and Chen Wen Cai. They had attacked the victim and two other men with metal rods. The victim was sent to Singapore General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a few days later.

The three men were among nine arrested suspects aged 20 to 30 years old. They were also charged for rioting with a deadly weapon and investigations are still ongoing. If convicted, they face up to 10 years jail and caning.

MAN SUFFERS CRACKED SKULL AFTER HIT & RUN, DRUNK CULPRIT STILL NOT CAUGHT

It is a very dark time for us right now as Mano Kunasegaran is recovering in the hospital after a hit and run accident at Clarke Quay last night. My boss, colleague and friend suffered a cracked skull, sprained spine, a broken shoulder and grave injustice as the drunken driver that hit and ran still has not been caught.

ZOUK MAY GET NEW LEASE OF LIFE IN CLARKE QUAY

Popular local nightclub Zouk will shut down at the end of the year, unless it finds a new home in Clarke Quay. A Zouk spokesperson has confirmed to the media that it is in discussions about a possible relocation to a Clarke Quay space, which was formerly occupied by clubs Zirca and Ministry of Sound. But Zouk says that clubbers shouldn't rejoice just yet. The deal has not been finalized, they say.
