Is it wrong for a country to put its own citizens first, or is it more wrong for someone like him/her to expect to be treated first?

Or should we say "South Asia"?

Trade unions, representing hundreds of thousands of workers, are a threat and must be rendered toothless. Freedom of peaceful assembly, which can bring together, perhaps tens of thousands of people, to press forth a common interest, is a threat and must be curtailed.

Opposition politician Ang Yong Guan questions the government's policies and thinks citizens will not tolerate changes to the elected Presidency. Is it right for them to push through with unpopular policies? Do you think they are well aware of what our people need?

Another opinion from yet another person on Presidential hopeful who wish to continue living in common public housing: "He or she is depriving one family of a HDB place when she/he can afford private housing. This person is selfish and inconsiderate as HDB is meant for citizens struggling to find accommodation." What do you think?

Singapore should stop its liberal foreign labour policies which have caused rising unemployment and under-employment amongst Singaporeans.

Is there a need to make citizens pay more when profits are already so high? Even for some things like education (which is a basic necessity), there are also several fee hikes over the past year.

Most governments make things simple and clear for their citizens. But not the PAP. It seems that PAP is out to deliberately confuse Singaporeans.

It is election time. Every 5 years, like most Singaporeans, I look forward to hearing speeches from the non-ruling parties. This period of time, I listen carefully to what they have to say because they only have 9 days of airtime and frankly, the PAP has been constantly blabbering the last 5 years. Yet, it is hard to disconnect the fact that apart from taking care of our wellbeing, MPs need to help represent the nation on a global front to attract MNCs and investors which in turn creates jobs for us. What I have heard many times during this campaigning period is that the members want to serve us. But is serving us at a citizen level enough?

I choose to take out my cpf if I can. Because I know and I am investing in areas which generates higher interest than Cpf does, with low risk and maximum liquidity. To my opinion: only those who are incapable will chose to have their money in CPF. Our gorverment is indirectly making us a lazy citizen/ unneeded burden to tax payer. It's not their fault, but their actions caused laziness. It's a cycle...
