A wheelchair bound elderly woman, who has been going to a Bedok church for the past two years, was found at the bottom of a ramp at the Bedok Lutheran Church, lying face down in a heap. 83 year old Madam Neo Ng Tee was found with her face covered in blood, two of her front teeth broken and the wheelchair on top of her. She suffered injuries to the left side of her face and can hardly open her eyes. She also has abrasions all over her body. Madam Neo is now in the high dependency ward at Changi General Hospital (CGH). It was unclear how she had fallen off her wheelchair at the foot of the ramp.

I phoned ASAS to ask who had made the decision to demand Cathay remove their banner, given it does not violate any of the ICC guidelines. He said the chairman of ASAS has final say but that he could not give me his chairman's name. The man on the phone (ASAS) said he could not say if the decision had been made in a meeting or if one person had made that decision, possibly after receiving a complaint from a personal friend or fellow member of the Barker Road Methodist Church where Prof Tan is a member.

The man who was alleged to have set ablaze a room inside St Hilda's Church at Ceylon Road have been charged with committing mischief by fire. He had also been named as Yeo Liang Chai, a 60 year old. No reason was again given as to why he set the room in the church on fire. Based on reports, the charge was read to him in court as he stood expressionless in the dock. he had no lawyers representing him, and his case will be mentioned again next Wednesday. Yeo will be remanded at Central Police Division and may be taken out to assist officers with their investigations.

Wonder what drove the man to burn books inside the church. This kind of mischief should not be tolerated. At the same time, also wondering whether the punishment for the crime would be more severe as compared to a more recent case involving church and some $50m. Just saying

Sad to read about the 52 year old man who was arrested for trespassing and stealing from a church located at Telok Blangah Road. Is a place of worship no longer safe from thieves? The more pertinent question is, what could have driven a man to steal from a place of worship? Too desperate for money, since it is a tough life making a decent living in Singapore?

A jobless Singaporean youth went berserk yesterday after he was mocked by a fellow youth at a local youth church group. According to a reader who witnessed the scene, the youth had been sharing about his difficulties in finding a job. He was mid-way through his sharing when a fellow group member interrupted him and mocked at him, telling him, "Why you don't be humble and just suck it up..."

A local pastor, Daniel Tan Hoo Sun, from the Living Praise Presbyterian Church went missing at 7AM yesterday after heading off to work in his church in Bishan. He was wearing a long sleeved navy blue shirt, long black trousers, black leather shoes and was carrying his black office bag.

As a resident of Bt Purmei and regular Church goer at St Theresa's, I hope the authorities which already have knowledge of the insanity occurring nightly across at Club Luxi of St James Power Station will really take concrete action to stem the problem of gang fights when the parties are over.
