According to lawyer Noor Marican, the Imam who is under police investigation and caused an online firestorm after he allegedly made inflammatory remarks against Christians and Jews has apologised for his words and actions. In summary, he said, "God Grant us victory over the disbelievers, God Grant us victory over the polytheists, God Grant us victory over the hypocrites and the people of envy, God Grant us victory over the Jews and the Christians, God Grant us victory over the Jews and the Christians ..." The last part was repeated twice as an emphasis. How is this acceptable in the context of Singapore?

I have nothing against Christians, but I have been hounded by members of the NUS christian society at least 4 times in the past fortnight, and I feel very harassed by them. When I say I am a free-thinker, they say something to the effect of "still, we'd like to share about God and the bible" and continue on for at least a good 15 minutes. One pair even replied in a condescending tone of "I hope God will make you become a believer" after being told I'm not interested.
