Why Are SAF Paper Generals Dependent On Government To Give Them Posts After Their Military Career?

Paper Generals who cannot lead, does not show leadership qualities and are basically useless, but still get to keep their cushy posts and huge salaries only with the help of the Government? If these guys were out in the private sector, they would probably have been sacked for such poor performances.

CHIEF OF DEFENCE FORCE NG CHEE MENG RETIRES FROM THE SAF

Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen announced on Facebook that Lieutenant-General Ng Chee Meng will retire from the Singapore Armed Forces on Aug 18. He will be replaced by current Chief of Army, Major-General Perry Lim. The sudden retirement prompted speculation the LG Ng Chee Meng might be running in the upcoming General Election.

Speaking to the media yesterday (1 Jul), Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General (LG) Ng Chee Meng said Singapore’s 3rd generation military is progressing well, and is at an “advanced stage”. LG Ng said SAF is now in a position of strength. “Today, we can bring lethal firepower at a very short time to hit moving targets – one shot, one kill,” said LG Ng. “This is a capability that few armed forces in the world possess, and we have the capabilities to ensure that we fulfil our mission to protect Singapore.”
