City Harvest Church's pastor Kong Hee surrendered at the State Courts and will start serving his jail term today. His sentence was significantly reduced from the original 8 years to 3 and a half years. All the other church leaders, except Chew Eng Han, will also serve their sentences today. Their jail terms (after huge discounts) range from 7 months to slightly more than 3 years. They were convicted of misappropriating $50million in church funds, the largest amount misappropriated in Singapore. The trial is also one of the longest-running criminal cases here and they are finally going to prison. As for Chew Eng Han, he will be bringing the case to the apex court and given time to prepare his own defence. #GodBlessKongHee Time for a new cell group in Changi?
