He was was honoured as best chief financial officer at the Singapore Corporate Awards in 2015. On Sept 25 this year, he pleaded guilty to two of four charges of using his mobile phone to take upskirt videos of women. Chan was at [email protected] mall when he saw one of the victims at around 1.25 pm that day. He turned on the video recording app on his mobile phone and stood behind the victim on the upriding escalator. He held his phone under the victim’s dress and took an upskirt video for 2½ minutes. He did it a total of three times.

Mr Sam Ong Eng Keang, the CFO of SMRT left only after 8 months into the job. His last day was 9 Nov this month. He was the shortest-serving CFO at SMRT. SMRT has lost 3 CFOs since 2011 when SMRT trains started breaking down more regularly. Its previous CEO Saw Phaik Hwa quit in Jan 2012.
