ST forummer Anne Chong suggested to welcome more foreigners into our schools. She said foreign and local children could develop friendships that might bloom into strong business ties in the future. Local parents, too, will have more opportunities for networking. This would prove very useful when they want to explore business opportunities in these foreign lands. She also said this is particularly relevant at a time when there is an excess of capacity in schools due to a declining cohort of local children.

WHO MADE IT A MUST TO WEAR LONG SLEEVES AND BUSINESS PANTS IN HOT SG?

With regards to the article yesterday that discussed Singapore's hot weather and the need to wear long sleeves and business trousers almost every working week, I cannot agree more with the writer. Singapore's formal workwear, at least for those who work in offices, are unrelenting in the climate of Singapore. True, these office folks would be blasted by air-con offices when they are actually working, but once outside, there is no way you would not perspire in those clothes. The question is, do we need to wear such clothes? Why is it a must? This is a western tradition, they can wear it because their climate is cooler. But why do we have to follow. If you don't wear something like this to work, why would upper management frown on you?

As I visit Ninja Van website regularly to keep track of my items, I could see the dates they estimated to deliver. The estimated date changes daily. From 12 Nov to 14Nov, 15 Nov, 16 Nov, 17 Nov and 18 Nov.
