MAN FLEW TO SG JUST TO STEAL MONEY, ALMOST GOT AWAY WITH $34,000

A 55 year old man flew from Hong Kong to Singapore so that he can steal from one of the offices here. He managed to break into an office in Clementi Loop which had a large 50kg safe before successfully cracking it open with drills and a saw. He initially got away with almost $34,000 in cash but was later arrested. He faces up to 4 years 3 months' jail.

MAID FIGHTS OFF BURGLAR WITH BRICK AFTER HE STEALS FROM LANDED HOUSE

An unemployed man, who attempted to steal from a private landed property, got more than he bargained for when he was found by 2 foreign domestic workers tending the house. After slipping into the house and pocketing foreign currency, designer watches and handbags from the property, he was discovered by one of the domestic workers, a 30 year-old Indonesian maid, while attempting to escape.

$10 MILLION WORTH OF WIDOW’S ASSETS MISSING

At least $10 million worth of wealthy widow Chung Khin Chun's assets - including jewellery and works of art - have reportedly gone missing. And the 87-year-old's niece, Hedy Mok, is representing Madam Chung to file a suit in the High Court to get a former tour guide from China, Yang Yin, to explain where the missing assets have gone, Lianhe Wanbao reported yesterday.
