However, the underpass, which was originally scheduled to open together with Downtown Line 2 in December 2015, have now had its opening delayed to the end of this year. An LTA spokesman said that the construction took longer than planned "due to extensive underground utilities and difficult ground conditions, such as the presence of high rock levels". The hard rocks in the path of the construction meant that some blasting had to be carried out. This is LTA cocking up. weren't they supposed to do ground checks before works started? And by doing the checks, won't they find the hard rocks present on the ground? The rocks did not become hard overnight that it now requires blasting. Now, this delay is actually taking two years, and only now LTA is announcing this.

Five new CCTV cameras were set up in Bukit Panjang in order to help catch the troublemaking monkey. AVA said the cameras will allow them to better understand the monkey's movements and plan more effective operations. There are around 160 reports of monkey attacks but AVA and ACRES are still trying to catch the monkey. They have no choice but to install CCTV after failing to catch one monkey for the past two weeks.
