Ex AMKTC General Manager Jailed 27 Months For Bribery, Why TC MPs Quiet?

The question was, how did Wong get away with four full years of accepting bribes and awarding contracts to his 'friends'? Did the AMKTC MPs, all of whom should have been privy to his financial dealings, not noticed something was amiss? After all, Wong is just the GM. Surely, the award of contracts should be under the purview of the TC's top echelons, in this case the AMK GRC MPs themselves. Were the leaders of this TC not discharging their fiduciary duties to the best of their abilities?

LOCAL FIRM SEMBCORP MARINE INVOLVED IN BRIBERY SCANDAL IN BRAZIL

A man in Brazil, who is connected to a series of companies that local Singapore company Sembcorp Marine has hired as consultants for its contracts in Brazil, has been arrested for bribery charges. Sembcorp Marine had hired these companies as consultants for its projects with Sete Brasil, a subsidiary of state-owned Brazillian energy giant Petrobras.

GOVT-LINKED COMPANIES KEPPEL CORP & SEMBCORP MARINE ACCUSED OF BRIBERY IN BRAZIL

Rigbuilders Keppel Corporation and Sembcorp Marine on Monday (Feb 9) denied Brazilian media reports that linked them to the widening corruption scandal surrounding Brazilian national oil firm Petrobras. Brazil’s national oil firm has been embroiled in a bribery scandal since last year. Former Petrobras director Paulo Roberto Costa said the company allegedly paid millions of dollars in kickbacks to politicians and members of the ruling Workers Party between 2004 and 2012 to buy influence in what critics say was a collusion between Petrobras and politicians.

FOUR INDIAN NATIONALS CHARGED FOR BRIBING S'PORE CUSTOMS OFFICER

Four Indians in Singapore were today charged in court with bribing a custom officer and fraudulently claiming Goods and Services Tax tourist refunds. The four Indians along with two Singaporeans were arrested after the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) had identified several suspicious GST refund claims using data analytics on its electronic tourist refund system (eTRS), an official statement said today.

MAN ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTING TO BRIBE 4 POLICE OFFICERS AT ANG MO KIO

While the suspect was being guided into the police car, he offered all his money to the 4 officers at scene if they were to let him go. The bribery attempt was flatly rejected by the officers, who proceeded to escort the suspect back to Ang Mo Kio Police Divisional Headquarters. The 4 officers are Staff Sergeant Muhammad Taufiq, Sergeant Gordon Yeo, Sergeant Muhammad Qayyum and Sergeant Ramzi of Ang Mo Kio South Neighbourhood Police Centre.
