LIFT BREAKDOWNS NOW A NATIONAL PANDEMIC, THANKS TO POOR PAP PLANNING AGAIN?

Two days later, all 4 lifts broke down at a 40-storey HDB block in Dover Cresent. A resident of the affected block in Dover Cresent told CNA that there had been issues with the lifts since more than 5 years ago. It is believed that the lifts under Halimah Yacob’s town council had also previously malfunctioned. It appears the government has constructed higher buildings on the assumption that nothing would go wrong. Contingency plans were not needed as problems would be solved only when they arises, similar to MRT breakdowns. Good planning?

KHAW BOON WAN FINALLY ADMITS MRT BREAKDOWNS DUE TO COMPLACENT POOR MANAGEMENT?

While commenting on the need for local train operators to up their game and citing the Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC) as an exemplary MRT system worth emulating, Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan let slip on what he thinks caused Singapore's MRT woes. She has been here for only half a year, while my colleague has been here for almost 4 years. Under her new "leadership", two staff had already resigned. She is a 41 years old unmarried woman. She is the type who misspells people name in email, as well as reading whatsapp messages but not replying to it.

The organisers of the Singapore AirShow should be applauded for the excellent public transport simulation they have created. The high-income earners found wearing suits to the AirShow despite Singapore’s hot weather have always complained that they do not understand the public’s displeasure with the public transport system. They frequently hear of train breakdowns and over congestion during peak hours but they have never had the chance to experience it first-hand.

It states that “There were seven delays that stretched more than 30 minutes between January and September 2015, compared to 10 in 2014. This year’s numbers have not included disruptions on the North East Line in October and the North South Line in November. Both delays lasted about two hours.”
