I saw this story on marketing website Mumbrella Asia highlighting Cold Storage's Deepavali promotion of... 38% off beef! Personally I am just astounded that a large organisation can make such a huge mistake like this, and worse the promo and the marketing collateral must have gone through several approval layers so it's not a case of one single idiot to blame.

On the 15th Feb 2016, my wife was almost "butchered" by the Culina staff at NTUC Finest at Zhongshan Park. The Culina staff tried to overcharged her for 222 grams of beef with a S$72.00 instead of S$15.98! The staff was unapologetic when confronted by my wife who only found out after making payment. He simply dismissed her with the "correct" price sticker and told her to get the refund at the customer service counter then proceeded to joke and laugh loudly behind the counter with his colleagues. The nonchalance attitude of the staff is simply unacceptable and gave us the impression that customer service is simply not their priority.

India's western state of Maharashtra has introduced a ban on beef so strict that even possession could land you in jail for five years, media reports and the chief minister said Tuesday. The country's Hindu majority considers cows sacred, and several states already ban their slaughter.
