BADLY TRANSLATED NOTICE AT TAMPINES NOT AUTHORISED BY TOWN COUNCIL, LIKELY A RESIDENT'S COMPLAINT

MP for Tampines GRC Baey Yam Keng has responded to a badly ill-translated notice at one of his estate's HDB blocks. Turns out the notice was not authorised by the Town Council - someone had likely put it there in his/her own capacity.

When the usually photogenic Singaporean parliamentarian Baey Yam Keng decided to post up an image of himself posting next to the Eiffel Tower, paired with a simple condolence message in the wake of the Paris terror attacks, he did not expect to be thrown into a social media firestorm which questioned the authenticity of the photo and accused Baey of being insensitive and narcissistic.

PAP MINISTER TO HEAD "SPECIAL TASKFORCE" TO LOOK INTO CENTRALE 8 DBSS

In response to a petition from a group of angry residents residing at Centrale 8, a Design, Build and Sell Scheme housing project in Tampines, Tampines Town Council chairman Baey Yam Keng has informed residents via email that a "special taskforce" headed by Education Minister Heng Swee Keat will look into their concerns.

Mr Baey said he was not in support of same-sex marriage. "Man and woman are just made differently. While two men or two women can love and care for a child as good as, or even better than a man-woman couple, we have to understand that a man is not a mother and a woman is not a father," "I may cook better than my wife but I will never be a mother to my three children. Even if my wife becomes the breadwinner, she cannot be their father. To be fair to the child who is innocent and cannot choose, I am not for same gender couples to have and raise children.

PAP MP HOSPITALISED FOR DENGUE FEVER

Tampines GRC MP Baey Yam Keng was hospitalised for dengue fever on Sunday night, just days before his charity play Like Me. I Like is set to open. In a post on his Facebook page on Monday evening, Mr Baey said he has been monitoring his platelet count since Friday, but it fell below the threshold on Sunday and he was warded.

“I think I give people the impression that I’m a very active, sociable person… doing a lot of things. But I’m actually quite an introvert. Really! It’s just that I’m active online so there are certain posts people remember and they form certain impressions about me,” said Mr Baey with a chuckle, ahead of a recent rehearsal for his upcoming play Like Me. I Like, which marks the first time he’s starring in a stage production.

CONSTRUCTION FIRM OWNED BY PAP GRASSROOT LEADER BUILT GREENLEAF HDB BTO WHICH HAD POOR WORKMANSHIP & MANY DEFECTS

Yesterday (14 Jul), the media reported that defects and poor workmanship were again found in newly completed HDB BTO flats. This time, it’s Tampines GreenLeaf. The Tampines GreenLeaf residents were so upset with the workmanship that they have also approached their MP, Baey Yam Keng, to address the issue. They also set up a Facebook support group to exchange information with each other facing the defect problems in their flats. They also want to meet Education Minister Heng Swee Keat, the MP for Tampines GRC, to get him to help.

BAEY YAM KENG: I DID NOT CALL FOR LEGAL ACTION OVER PAP WIKI PAGE VANDALISM

Tampines GRC Member of Parliament (MP) Baey Yam Keng on Friday (June 13) said it was "never on top of my mind, nor is it PAP's (People's Action Party) priority" to advocate for legal action against those who launched "a coordinated attack with malicious edits" on the party's Wikipedia page.

Baey Yam Keng: PAP considering lawsuit against PAP wiki page vandal

People's Action Party MP called on his organisation to consider legal action yesterday after "vicious" edits were made to its Wikipedia page. Tampines GRC MP Baey Yam Keng spoke out after a user of the website changed the name of the party to "Party Against People" and added lines such as "down with the fascists" and "vote for Opposition" into the text.
