SELFISH CAT FEEDERS DON’T CLEAN UP FOOD ITEMS, CAUSE ELDERLY TO FALL

I am a resident staying at Blk 743 Jurong West Street 73. Stray cats & cats feeding has always been an issue at my location for the past 5 yrs. We have wrote to HDB/ Choa chu kang Town council....informed AVA, Cat Society. Slowly all the residents were juz trying to endure the situtation as the organization were not keen to solve the issue. The feeders are very arrogant type. Plenty of times the cats has entered out 2nd floor unit. Juz leave the Dry, wet can foods, ikan bilis & fried fish on the floor juz outside the lift lobby & void decks. Senior citizens at my blk has stepped slipped & fell down few times. Today it happened to another auntie who was in her last 70s. Luckily we helped her.

ANOTHER CAT THROWN FROM GREAT HEIGHT IN YISHUN – SUSPECT CAUGHT, NOW ON PROBATION

Another community cat was found with severe chest trauma at 115A this week . This is the area where cats have been thrown down from height, and a suspect was caught and currently on probation . Reports of abuse continue to come in from the area with one dead cat recently. We strongly appeal to the community there to come forward , pm us or call AVA if you have any information. This is important for the authorities to pursue the cases further.

TWO DOGS CAGED 24/7 IN PASIR PANJANG, AVA CHECKS & SAY DOGS ARE OKAY

Guys, I need help. There are two dogs that are kept in cages 24/7 at Pasir Panjang. Three months ago a friend contacted SPCA, they went there, the owner refused to talk to them. Then she contact AVA and they went there and said the dogs are ok! I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT! These dogs are kept in cages all the time, there is no way this is ok!!!!!!

MOH & AVA ALERT: RARE CASE OF ALLERGIC REACTIONS LINKED TO GOS FOUND IN SOME MILK FORMULAS

The Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) would like to inform the public of rare cases of allergic reactions linked to the consumption of products with galacto-oligosaccharide (GOS), which is found in some milk formulas sold in Singapore. Since 2007, about two cases of GOS allergies on average have been reported each year in Singapore. All the cases have a history of atopy or allergic conditions such as atopic dermatitis (eczema), allergic rhinitis or asthma and were found to be sensitised to house dust mites. To date, there were no reported cases of infants (below 2 years old) who had been allergic to GOS.
