SEGAR ROAD MONKEYS GETTING MORE AGGRESSIVE, WHERE IS AVA?

In one case, a resident claimed that a monkey had bitten his three year old son last week, and also confirmed that at least three or four other people have been bitten by the monkeys. Some residents are now even afraid of stepping out of their flats. A resident said the monkey has broken items like flower pots, and his family has mostly stayed at home during the recent long weekend due to the fear of being attacked by the monkeys.

HELP! SEGAR RD MONKEYS DESTROY NEIGHBOURS PLANTS & CAUSE BIG MESS

I live in the Segar rd area where some monkeys have been making a big mess for the past few months. They regularly climb up the block to look for food and end up destroying all my plants and pots! Help, I am not sure how it happened as my family never left food lying around or feed the monkeys. They are not very scared of humans too. If this goes on, I worry our house will be destroyed by those monkeys!

FINALLY, GOOD NEWS FROM AVA! WE DID NOT IMPORT ROTTEN MEAT FROM BRAZIL!

I guess we can all breathe a sigh of relief that AVA has announced that Singapore is not affected by the Brazilian rotten meat saga. None of the 21 meat-processing establishments placed by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply under a special surveillance regime are approved to export to Singapore, the authority said in a statement. This is a huge relief. When NTUC announced earlier today that they are checking with the meat supplier, Singaporeans collectively held their breath. What if we really had been eating rotten meat? Thankfully, it has been confirmed Singapore was not affected. Finally AVA brought some good news to Singaporeans, after all their culling nonsense.

AVA CULLS MORE CHICKENS, THIS TIME IN PASIR RIS

AVA is at is again! Just a month after the Sin Ming chickens was culled that angered many Singaporeans, AVA went ahead and culled some free roaming chickens in the Pasir Ris area. AVA claimed, as they will, that these chickens could pose a threat to public health in the event that bird flu is brought here by migratory birds. Residents near the culling area, at the Sungei Api Api area claimed that there used to be more than 10 chickens around the area, but now only a scattered 2 or 3 remained. Expect these 2 or 3 to be culled soon too. AVA said it has been receiving feedback about the "growing free-roaming chicken population" since January last year, although they declined to say exactly how many complaints were received, or indeed, if the complaints come from the same group of people.

POULTRY FROM US STATES BANNED FOR AVIAN FLU, AVA CAN HELP CULL?

Reports in the news indicate that the AVA has suspended the imports of poultry, poultry products, processed eggs and live birds from parts of the US states of Tennessee and Wisconsin, after reports that premises there had been affected by avian flu. Wah, in the first place, didn't even know we import poultry from as far away as Tennessee and Wisconsin. Thought we got most of our chickens from Malaysia. Anyways, AVA has experience in this area. If our American friends need help with culling of the chicken, then AVA can do it. They are good and efficient in that.

DID AVA KILL RED JUNGLEFOWL INSTEAD OF WILD CHICKENS?

AVA flipflops and now twists their words, adding more reasons why the Sin Ming chickens have to be killed. This approach of making a one-sided decision, then finding excuses to justify it later, seems to be very common in Singapore. What is even more disturbing is that AVA is refusing to address and acknowledge allegations that Red Junglefowl may have been accidentally culled instead of wild chickens. Photo evidence have surfaced, suggesting that the "chickens" in Sin Ming are actually the endangered species Red Junglefowl. AVA has refused to address these allegations, and the reason for their actions is up for speculation.

DEAR AVA STOP TALKING COCK & CULL PESKY PIGEONS AT HAWKER CENTERS INSTEAD

This is pure talking cock and bullshit u-turn by the AVA. From the sequence of events, it is obvious they retrospectively found a scientific excuse to justify their actions. If you acted on noise complaints, admit it and act differently next time. Now AVA attempts to cover up with a cock and bull story about stopping bird flu, it makes AVA look like liars and real lousy ones. AVA thinks Singaporeans are stupid and cannot see through their pathetic attempt to cover backside?

AVA SAYS CHICKEN CULLING NOT BECAUSE OF NOISE, BUT PREVENTING BIRD FLU

AVA had earlier said it culled 24 chickens in the Sin Ming area after getting about 20 complaints from residents last year, largely about noise. Dr Yap stated: "The noise issues only serve to bring attention to the relatively high numbers of free-roaming chickens in certain areas, which in turn raise
the risk of exposure to bird flu in these localities.
