Political appointees have no financial role, safe to say merely ‘approving’ the use of the $5 billion. If the PM is talking about decision making, it is the civil servants who are making the decision behind the scene, collating, presenting, advising where the draw down and transfer of money comes from. So is the prime minister trying to draw wool over people’s eyes when he said, ‘It is a big decision, S$5 billion of supplementary budget.

The Workers’ Party, which runs Aljunied-Hougang Town Council (AHTC), has resolved more areas of non-compliance with the Town Councils Act according to its auditing firm KPMG.

Aljunied Hougang Punggol East Town Council has issued some responses to the Auditor-General's Office report, which had reported on 5 "major lapses" in AHPETC's accounts.

The Auditor-General's Office (AGO) today, 9 February, issued a report highlighting five "major lapses" in AHPETC's accounts for Financial Year 2012-13. Minister for National Development Khaw Boon Wan will move a motion for debate in Parliaent on Thursday based on this report.
