17 Y.O DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENSE CAUSED DEATH OF MOTORCYCLE PILLION

On Saturday morning (21 May 2016), a couple on a motorcycle were hit from the rear by a car at the traffic junction of Ang Mo Kio Ave 5 and Ang Mo Kio Industral Park 2. The impact of the crash was so strong that the pillion rider landed on the roof of a taxi on the right. The pillion rider died on the way to the hospital. There were visible injuries to her face. The motorcycle rider was conveyed to the hospital. They had planned to get married next year. The car that caused the crash was driven by a 17 year old male who was driving without a license. He had fled from the car after the accident. He has been arrested by the police. It was understood that he had been driving a rental car.

ANG MO KIO LIFT BREAKS DOWN 3 MORE TIMES DESPITE REPAIRS & DECLARED SAFE TO USE

In March 2016, a maid was sent hurtling up 17 storeys after entering the lift at Block 317 Ang Mo Kio Street 31. Since then, the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) has inspected the lift and completed its rectifications. Engineers concluded that the lift's brakes were not functioning well and could not hold it in a stationary position. Despite the rectifications, residents of Block 317 claims that the lift has broken down at least 3 more times and are now afraid of using Lift A. They fear that they would face the same fate of being stuck in the lift for 2 hours and some haven even chosen to take the stairs despite staying at the top floor.

GRABCAR FARES GONE CRAZY: ANG MO KIO TO YISHUN NORTHPOINT COST $23

I gave been using Grabcar for months but I noticed over the last few weeks, the fare indicated via the app seems to have gone crazy and haywired. The most ridiculous instance was a trip from Ang Mo Kio to Yishun Northpoint, Grabcar wanted to charge me $23 for this short trip. With such pricing Grabcar doesn't seem like a good economical choice anymore. Taking the regular taxis or Uber would make more monetary sense.

A few days ago, you shared a story about an elderly uncle who regularly begs for food in Ang Mo Kio. Various social outlets have tracked him down and visited him at his home. Family members told volunteers that the uncle holds a full time job but gambles regularly. He has 2 children, a daughter and a son, both gives him a regular allowance. The family is doing well and have rejected any form of social assistance. They disapprove of him begging for food but he continues to do it.

So I went to AMK to buy some dvd's from VEEGOO. Walking towards the bus stop and saw this uncle begging for money. So I gave him 10 bucks. Not much. Just enough for a meal. Then I thought why not ask him out to eat at the coffeeshop? So I bought him chicken rice since he said he wanted to eat it since morning.
