After a few years away from the online spotlight, Amos Yee is back online and has now renaming himself as the Polocle - a combination of his favourite words “polymath” and “oracle”. In a new blog post, Amos Yee shed more light on the infamous video 'Lee Kuan Yew is Finally Dead' that got him into trouble with the law, and his subsequent incarceration, detention and finally, escape into the America to seek asylum.

A senior academic from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP), Professor Huang Jing, has been identified as “an agent of influence of a foreign country,” announced the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Friday (Aug 4). “The information was duly conveyed by that senior member of the LKYSPP to very senior public officials who were in a position to direct Singapore’s foreign policy. The clear intention was to use the information to cause the Singapore Government to change its foreign policy".

Amos Yee is still incarcerated at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention centre in Chicago, says a Hong Kong based news publication The News Lens. Yee had won a bid for political asylum in the United States of America and was legally eligible for release.

It's public now: Amos Yee has been granted asylum in the United States. This is a decision that strengthens my love for this country and what it truly stands for. There's a reason that free speech is prioritized and enshrined as the First Amendment. In a 13-page document, the judge wrote "it is clear that Yee's prosecutions for wounding religious feelings and obscenity was just a pretext to silence his opinions."
