The mother of sex blogger Alvin Tan Jye Yee told the Sessions Court here that she had no idea of his whereabouts after he failed to return his passport for the third time. "Both bailors failed to show sufficient cause under Section 404 of the Criminal Procedure Code. "Therefore, the court will forfeit Tan's RM20,000 bail," Abdul Rashid said.

On May 12, Mr Abdul Rashid had granted an application by Tan and Vivian Lee May Ling to have their passports released. This came after their counsel Chong Joo Tian told the court that his clients would be in Singapore to shoot a documentary film on their lives there. The couple were allowed to retain their passports between May 18 and June 3 to enable them to travel to the island republic.
