The Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) is celebrating its 40th birthday this year. Ravi Philemon, the Secretary-General of Red Dot United (RDU), wrote a heartwarming Facebook post to congratulate SDP. Ravi Philemon also praised Dr Chee Soon Juan for being the right person who would be able to lead an opposition coalition.

On Good Friday, a fire swept through a 10th-floor HDB flat in Sengkang belonging to a single mother and her 3 children. The fire damaged the entire master bedroom, toilets, and sewerage pipes, as well as part of the living room. Her upstairs neighbour's toilet was also damaged and she might have to pay for those damages. To help her out, the Restaurant & Bar Hoteliers Alliance (RBHA) came together to raise funds for this poor family during this time of need.

Our reader is disappointed that ComfortDelGro is considering an alliance with Uber as it would mean more surge pricing for standard taxis. She thinks ComfortDelGro should think of other ways to benefit drivers, not at the expense of its riders, and hopes the LTA can look into this matter.

ComfortDelGro has announced that it is actually in talks to form a "strategic alliance" with Uber. Nothing is affirmative yet but if given the green light, commuters will be able to book their taxis through the Uber app. If you cannot beat them, join them? Does it work like that?
