Pritam said the motion was carried out hurriedly and and was premature, and indicated that the timing is highly "unusual for a legal system that places an exacting premium on the rule of law as a defining characteristic of the country". He then urged the PAP to come clean and explain to Singaporeans why they hurriedly file the motion before the case is concluded. Pritam also revealed that AHTC's auditors had submitted an unqualified financial statement this year and it has been sent to the Ministry of National Development, which oversees town councils.

For two GE in a row, the PAP team in Aljunied GRC have failed to defeat their WP counterparts. So, the next best way to defeat them is via the courts. Unable to sue them until their pants drop for any 'malicious" comments they might have met, the WP MPs instead got sued for alleged mismanagement of Town Council. Of course, the WP MPs lost their battle in court, no one expected otherwise. But this case highlighted the step by step way to fix your opponents by making them look bad, and you look good.

Pritam also questioned how much funding was allocated to Aljunied GRC as compared to other PAP wards, and also stated there is another set of proposals from WP that have been ignored since 2015. Pritam also assured Chua that he had kept all the correspondence on the issue, in an effort to not let his party get tarnished again in the run up to the elections.

When the Ang Mo Kio Town Council General Manager took bribes for almost two years before finally being caught, the PAP MPs for that TC, led by the esteemed PM himself, did not even get a slap on the wrist. So what were the MPs doing for two years when their appointed man was happily taking bribes managing their town Council? Sleeping on the job to not realise this? Isn't this the same as failing in their fiduciary duties?

The High Court has put arbitration proceedings between Aljunied-Hougang Town Council (AHTC) and its former managing agent FM Solutions and Services (FMSS) on hold today.

The Singapore Democratic Party released a statement saying it does not want to be implicated in AHTC's dispute and refuted Low Thia Kiang's claims that they also did not handle Town Council matters properly.
