The former Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East town council, which was run by the Workers' Party, is accused of opting for more expensive contracts instead of extending existing contracts at much lower prices when they ran the constituency.

KPMG AUDITORS CLAIM AHTC MADE MILLIONS IN IMPROPER PAYMENT, MAYBE GUILTY OF CRIMINAL CONDUCT
In KPMG's latest report into WP-run Aljunied Hougang Town Council (AHTC), auditors claimed that improper payments of over $1.5 million were made to AHPETC former Managing Agent FMSS and FMSI. The report said that AHTC overpaid FMSS to be its managing agent in excess of $1.2 million. This amounted to serious conflicts of interest and if these oversights were deliberate, could amount to criminal conduct and AHTC should understand its implications.

Back in 2015, the PAP was making a mountain out of a molehill, refusing to accept legitimate and honest explanations by AHPETC on the use of its funds. Now, on hindsight, one can only commend AHPETC for standing its grounds and for doing the right thing - spending more than S$2.2m on lift maintenance after a resident had had a bad experience, even though such spending contributed to a deficit. In light of recent incidents involving lifts in PAP-run constituencies, you have to ask if they are skimping on maintenance.

Kudos to LHL for such a successful campaign strategy!! His strategy? Just bang on TWO things – a dead ah gong and AHPETC!! We have shown utmost respect to ah gong and the old guards because they were great problem solvers!! Unfortunately, that ability is not coded in the PAP’s DNA and the new leaders have not acquired a single strain!! In fact, not only are they no longer great in solving problems, they are the ones who have created the problems in the first place!!

Listen, all of you PAP suck ups. You can keep talking about AHPETC all you like, but it does not matter. AHPETC will be resolved with time. We can balance accounts, get donations, pool resources. We do all this because we are united, unlike some other party and Singaporeans who only know how to attack and smear other parties. I tell you the truth, we would rather vote for unknown parties like the National Solidarity Party than your bunch!

GE2015 is looking like a contest to showcase which party committed the most lapses under their watch. For the moment it is looking like a contest between WP and PAP as only these two parties have direct responsibilities over the citizens as their representatives. And also a very important point to note, both parties may have committed lapses, but both did their jobs with good intentions, with very decent and upright people, so no crime has been committed so far.
