Dr Tan Cheng Bock Calls For Independent Review Of Parti Liyani's Case

Dr Tan Cheng Bock Calls For Independent Review Of Parti Liyani's Case

Even though the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Ministry of Manpower (MOM) have promised to be accountable by holding a review, Dr Tan Cheng Bock wonders if the reviews are "independent enough to be 100% objective." Dr Tan Cheng Bock counter-proposes that the government should create an independent review board to look into this case. The benefits of having an independent body will be its ability to uncover any "underlying systematic faults" instead of chasing after short-sighted targets like hunting for individual human errors and finding scapegoats.

HOW COME SMRT MAKE STAFF AS SCAPEGOATS BUT MAINTAIN MOST OF TOP MGMT?

I would like to put it a point that SMRT is a leopard that never change its spots. With so many screw ups going on, and when a major ones occurred, like what happened in February where two staffs were killed on job, the SMRT top managements are still as usual, covering their own ass by finding two scapegoats to "die" for the company. It's totally absurd as it just don't make sense!

SHOULD MOE TEACHERS BE SUBJECTED TO MORE SCRUTINY AND ACCOUNTABILITY?

There has been something I've been curious about as of late. It started with the debate surrounding the carpark issue. This led to people comparing teaching to other noble jobs such as medicine or engineering. But for the latter, there is a large amount of scrutiny and accountability. If all these other important jobs are held to a certain level of scrutiny and accountability, should teachers also be subject to more scrutiny? Conversely however, if we were to scrutinise teachers even more, less people would join the teaching fraternity as the heavy responsibility might "scare" them away. Too much accountability would just shift more burden to teachers and parents might feel that it is the teacher's job to discipline/teach/babysit all at the same time.

AMOS YEE: ALL SINGAPORE STUFF IS THE ONLY ACCOUNTABLE MEDIA IN S'PORE?

How can you tell if someone is truly credible? If someone makes a mistake, and then admits it. AllSingaporeStuff misused DJ jamie yeo’s photo, making it seem like she condemned the Government’s birth policies, when really she accepted them and is an avid sucker of PAP dick. jamie yeo then went onto Facebook to condemn AllSingaporeStuff’s misrepresentation of her, ASS (haha) then quietly took down the article but Mothership noticed their attempt to try to hide their mistake, and reported it. But what did AllSingaporeStuff do?
