Our reader urged LTA and Traffic Police to perform mandatory checks on speed limits of heavy vehicles as he has been seeing many trucks travelling on the 1st lane on expressways. He also hopes this will prevent more accidents involving heavy vehicles.

45% of foreigners causing accidents driving a heavy vehicle is worrying enough. Do they know Singapore's road rules and regulations enough? Do they actually know the norms of drivers using Singapore roads? They might be licenced, but experience driving in Singapore is different from driving in any other countries. Should these foreigners be allowed to drive heavy vehicles in the first place?

Just want to share with you 2 incidents that I saw near my workplace this morning. Incident 1, I saw two farking idiots taking their time to cross the road when it was red man the whole time. A car tried to turn and saw them in the way so he honked both of them. The guy behind still don't give a f**k and continue looking at his phone while strolling. Incident 2, During lunch time, I saw these same 2 idiots crossing and only paying attention to each other. Neither one noticed the cab coming up from the side. The cab came so close before stopping that I panicked and shouted at them to look out.

Hit and run cases in Singapore have decreased in recent years as drivers are now more wary of being caught on video. Last year, 136 cases of hit-and-run cases were reported, which is consistent with the figure in 2013 and a drop of 11 percent from 152 cases in 2012.
