STRAITS TIMES REPORTING OF LEE FAMILY FEUD IS DISMAL, IGNORES DAMAGING POINTS TO LHL

Notice that the article starts out with LHL's point of view, with much of the article filled with quotes from LHL's short five-paragraph response. Curiously, less space is dedicated to his sibling's longer five-page statement, and ST leaves out some pretty important points of the statement. ST's framing of the statement is that it "centres around the long-running dispute over the demolition of their father's house," instead of what the statement is really about: concerns with LHL's alleged misuse of power; the dispute over the house is merely an example that his siblings use to illustrate that point. I refer to the four and a half pages in the Sunday Times (Mar 12) – arguably, trying to explain the justification for the water price increase. I am unable to find in the four and a half pages the data which are arguably the most pertinent and obvious (at least to Singaporeans) on the subject issue.

Yesterday, it was reported that the Malaysian Minister for Communications and Multimedia called for ASEAN to use Malay as the language of communication to unite the region. In a shocking response, fervent CHC supporter and regular contributor to the 154 forum page Priscilla Poh Beng Hoon said that the Malay language is irrelevant and not as valued as Hebrew, English and Mandarin. She also said that the Malay language makes her vomit.

The reader who spoke on condition of anonymity, felt the public should now that Mr Luke Koh, WP candidate for Nee Soon GRC had been arrested before in connection with an acrimonious divorce. TNP understands he was arrested on 16 Sept 012 after scaling the fence at his relative's landed property. An altercation ensured and the police were called in. Mr Koh had been attempting to gain access to his family, who were then living at the relative's home.
