It looks like the writer got a memo from the Government to give the poor Minister some credit. It's like they need that extra support so badly. And thats why SIngapore's mainstream media tanks on independence and true journalism

STRAITS TIMES REPORTING OF LEE FAMILY FEUD IS DISMAL, IGNORES DAMAGING POINTS TO LHL
Notice that the article starts out with LHL's point of view, with much of the article filled with quotes from LHL's short five-paragraph response. Curiously, less space is dedicated to his sibling's longer five-page statement, and ST leaves out some pretty important points of the statement. ST's framing of the statement is that it "centres around the long-running dispute over the demolition of their father's house," instead of what the statement is really about: concerns with LHL's alleged misuse of power; the dispute over the house is merely an example that his siblings use to illustrate that point. The allegation that LHL misused his power and the subsequent elaboration have both been reduced...

I refer to the four and a half pages in the Sunday Times (Mar 12) – arguably, trying to explain the justification for the water price increase. I am unable to find in the four and a half pages the data which are arguably the most pertinent and obvious (at least to Singaporeans) on the subject issue.

The worst kind of journalism is that perpetuated by lapdog tabloids masquerading as respectable trustworthy newspapers, such as Today. Surely, the type of fake news published by the MSM is much more pernicious than those alleged "falsehoods" in the online media given its much broader reach?

I find it atrocious that Straits Times published a report like this! No disrespect to S R Nathan but Singapore's first elected president is Ong Teng Cheong who served from 1 September 1993 to 31 August 1999.

Yesterday, it was reported that the Malaysian Minister for Communications and Multimedia called for ASEAN to use Malay as the language of communication to unite the region. In a shocking response, fervent CHC supporter and regular contributor to the 154 forum page Priscilla Poh Beng Hoon said that the Malay language is irrelevant and not as valued as Hebrew, English and Mandarin. She also said that the Malay language makes her vomit.

The reader who spoke on condition of anonymity, felt the public should now that Mr Luke Koh, WP candidate for Nee Soon GRC had been arrested before in connection with an acrimonious divorce. TNP understands he was arrested on 16 Sept 012 after scaling the fence at his relative's landed property. An altercation ensured and the police were called in. Mr Koh had been attempting to gain access to his family, who were then living at the relative's home. He was subsequently given a police warning for criminal trespass and breaching a personal protection order (PPO), which had been taken out against him earlier.

Yeah… I think some people found out by now… I did, in fact, make use of the voracious desire of the reporters, to fuck with the mainstream media. I think it’s pretty obvious when I have arranged a meeting with a person named ‘Dick Ow’, and there is no video game store in Red Hill, at least one that I’m aware of. I manipulated the press to indulge in the thoroughly exhausting experience of waiting in Pasir Panjang fruitlessly for several hours, which they did with their quote unquote ‘diligence’.
