Parliament has been dissolved. The PAP has no right to use state media to showcase their candidates before the campaigning period. Yesterday, each new candidate presented by Heng Swee Keat and Masagos Zulkifli in a press conference was given airtime on Mediacorp's Channel 5 and Channel 8 news i.e. national TV when giving their individual speeches about why they joined PAP. GE2020: PAP Candidate Ivan Lim Called Out as Elitist

A Singaporean has exposed PAP new candidate Ivan Lim Shaw Chuan, the GM of Keppel Offshore & Marine as an elitist who was never well liked by his battalion when he was CO because of his condescending attitude. He apparently had a habit of boasting about his personal achievements and drove around camp in expensive cars. Just like many PAP members sitting in their ivory towers, it is unfathomable how such politicians can empathise with ordinary citizens and be their voice in parliament.

GE2020: Red Dot United Unveils Candidates For Jurong GRC

Red Dot United, Singapore's newest political party, has revealed some candidates contesting in the five-member Jurong GRC. Red Dot United shared that three of its five candidates will include Secretary-General Ravi Philemon, Chairperson Michelle Lee, and 33-year-old Ms Liyana Dhamirah. Red Dot United is keen to contest in Jurong GRC because many of its party members grew up there, giving them an affection for this constituency.

GE2020: Reform Party Gives Way to PSP to Avoid Three-Cornered Fight in West Coast

West Coast residents and all Singaporeans will remember the Reform Party for graciously giving up their ward to make things easier for PSP who is seeking to contest in West Coast GRC. It definitely was not easy for RP to come to this decision given the party's "strong emotional connection" to West Coast, as written by Kenneth Jeyaretnam in RP's Facebook announcement, but they are doing this for the greater opposition unity. I trust that you've heard the news from 7pm yesterday? Our good friend Lee Hsien Loong has decided to call elections within SIXTEEN DAYS from now. Do not waste the means in which you can change the world around you. One vote can make a difference, but a bunch of them can make that difference more guaranteed. In a time where everything is uncertain, dark and gloomy, I ask you to shed your fears and vote for the things that you hold dear to your heart. You are only free to criticize, walk down the road, video-conference with foreigners, stand in some public place quietly for a bit or make your opinion on Facebook until they say so. Freedoms do not need a permit, you only need literacy and the courage to take it and use it !
