NON-PROFIT GROUP PETITIONS MSF TO WAIVE POWER BILLS FOR ELDERLY, DON'T LEAVE THEM IN THE DARK!

A non-profit Happy People Helping People Foundation started a petition to ask the Ministry of Social and Family Development to waive electricity charges for elderly residents in rental flats.

It found out through a survey that many senior citizens have difficulties paying their bills, with some owing money for months. They are unable to pay as they are no longer working or do not earn enough to begin with.

Some tried asked for help but were never given immediate solutions.

The foundation thus asked for MSF to consider their plight and waive electricity charges. It thinks it is unfair to deprive old people of basic needs like lighting because living in the dark will only make them more prone to accidents.

What do you think? To waive or not to waive?

FOUR PEOPLE OUT ON BAIL OVER FAS DONATION ISSUE, INCLUDING FORMER MP

It has now transpired that the four people heavily involved in the FAS donation saga are all out on police bail. The four are Bill Ng, the person who first disclosed the donation figure of $500,000, his wife, who was listed as the owner of the property the Tiong Bahru FC jackpot machines are operated at, former FAS president and former MP Zainudin Nordin, and current FAS general secretary, Winston Lee.

All four were previously quoted as being individuals who were helping in the CAD investigations. It is understood that the bail amount differs for all the individuals, with only Bill Ng's amount of $100,000 disclosed. Being on bail means the four are no longer merely helping in the investigations, right?

5 YEAR OLD UYGHUR BOY WIELDS KNIFE TO DEFEND GRANDMOTHER'S STALL

A 5 year old boy in Uyghur was caught on camera for wielding a knife at a truck driver while defending his grandmother's stall.

He shouted at the driver for parking there and blocking the stall. The boy also threatened to puncture the tyres with his knife and was heard shouting "If you park here I will beat you up!"

This is not the first time he has threatened people. Last year, he even used metal pipes to defend his grandmother's stall.

Whoa, the grandmother must be feeling very safe. Anyone wants to hire him as a bodyguard?

16 YEAR OLD SG YOUTH AMONGST THOSE CAUGHT IN BATAM ENTERTAINMENT RAID

Six Singaporean youths were among 35 foreigners arrested, although it was made known they were arrested for failure to produce their travel documents. Amongst the Singaporean youths arrested at the entertainment area often frequented by foreigners was a 16 year old, who was with his friends for holiday in Batam.

I don't care what the raid was about, but the fact that a 16 year old was on holiday in Batam, and was caught partying at a entertainment hotspot in Batam, certainly raised serious questions. What was a 16 year old doing partying away in a entertainment area frequented by foreigners, on his Batam holiday. The 16 year old probably would not have been allowed in to any of Singapore's main entertainment clubs.

MAN FROM INDIA FAKED TERROR PLOT TO AVOID HOLIDAY WITH GIRLFRIEND

A 32 year old man in India was arrested by the police after faking a terror plot in order to avoid going on a holiday with his online girlfriend.

Motaparthi Vamshi Krishna's girlfriend had asked him to take her on a trip even though he did not have enough money. He did not want to reject her so he came up with a plan to send her a fake air ticket and make the airport cancel the flight.

His way of doing this was to send a hoax email to the police about hijacking planes in various Indian cities. His fake tip off resulted in tighter security at airports in Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai but no flights were cancelled.

Krishna was arrested for charges such as impersonation and providing false information. He is a travel agent who is already married with a child.

Wah, so romantic. Got so desperate not?
