I don't know if I'm considered lucky or suay, I just receive 3 messages from 3 different girls while looking through my WeChat at Sembawang Sun Plaza. COMPANY RESCINDED JOB OFFER AFTER SIGNING LETTER OF APPOINTMENT. HOW?

So, I went for an interview in this other company. Prospects there so much better, and I think I aced the interview. A few weeks after the interview, they told me I got the job. So, they offered me the position I wanted, and I went there to sign the letter of appointment with the new company. Next day, I submitted my letter of resignation with previous company.

Felt happy for a while, but one week before I was due to start on my new job, the new company rescinded the job offer. They cited manpower numbers as a reason. Now, I am going to be jobless, as my resignation date is this Friday. What can I do?

THIEVES STOLE MOTORBIKE BRAKE COMPONENTS, PUTS RIDERS LIVES AT RISK

Police have arrested two men, aged 24 and 26, for stealing motorcycle parts and putting them up for sale on Facebook. The thefts occurred in Woodlands and Marsiling housing estates between end of February and mid-March this year.

Among the things stolen were break components of large capacity motorbikes. Now, I am not a motorcycle rider, but I think you don't have to be an expert to know that if you steal any part of a break component, you are putting the rider at risk! What if he start the motorbike without realizing that his break are missing some components, and thus might not work? Aren't you putting his life at risk?

MAID ABUSER APPEAL TO REDUCE JAIL TERM TO A DAY, GOT 16 MONTHS INSTEAD

The cheek of the sales executive who tried to appeal against her 14 months jail sentence for abusing her maid. Ang Lilian, who had subjected her maid to abuse almost daily for a period of three weeks, had asked for the judge to commute her sentence to a day in jail or a fine.

In which alternate universe does she think this appeal has any merits? The judge did what was right, and increased her sentence to 16 months in jail instead. JUdge said Ang had shown a total lack of remorse and had capitalized on her maid's vulnerability.

MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT: SINGAPORE TO GET FLYING TAXIS SOON

Singaporeans will get to go home by flying taxis in the future, says the Ministry of Transport. According to a spokesperson, MOT is already taking initial steps to make this futuristic mode of transport a reality. Companies are already in talks with the ministry to start trials on drones that carry passengers.

SG CONDEMNS LONDON ATTACK, NO SGREANS HURT

The London attacks last night was a stark reminder that any acts of terrorism can happen anywhere, anytime. One does not need a cache of weapons to start a terror attack. Just a car as a weapon would do. Singapore, like the rest of the world, has rightly condemned the attack.

No matter who the perpetrator is, or whichever race or religion he claims to represent, this was clearly a cowardly act, and no race or religion will stand for such attacks. How can anyone defend an attack by mowing down defenseless pedestrians, and killing of a policeman who was just doing his job? This was no act of bravado, just senseless killing.

YISHUN MRT APPEARS IN NETFLIX HORROR SHOW PROMOTION VIDEO

Yishun is in the news again, but netizens staying in the district will not be happy. American online streaming media company Netflix has produced a promotional video for its horror series, Stranger Things. In the 11 second video, a still of a Yishun MRT station sign appears on screen, with a dark, shadowy and eerie color scheme to match.
