GE2020: Red Dot United Introduces Alec Tok As Fifth Candidate For Jurong GRC

Red Dot United has unveiled its fifth and final candidate for the five-member Jurong GRC. Theatre director Alec Tok Kim Yam, 55, will be joining his peers Secretary-General Ravi Philemon, Chairperson Michelle Lee, entrepreneur Liyana Dhamirah and legal engineer Nicholas Tang. GE2020: Workers’ Party Low Thia Khiang, Chen Show Mao, Png Eng Huat Not Contesting This GE

The Workers' Party (WP) Secretary-General Pritam Singh announced on 25 June that political veterans Low Thia Khiang, Chen Show Mao and Png Eng Huat will not be contesting in GE2020. This decision to step down was made "some time ago". However their decision to step down does not mean they are retiring from politics. GE2020: Is It Fair for the PAP to Introduce Candidates on National TV?

Parliament has been dissolved. The PAP has no right to use state media to showcase their candidates before the campaigning period. Yesterday, each new candidate presented by Heng Swee Keat and Masagos Zulkifli in a press conference was given airtime on Mediacorp's Channel 5 and Channel 8 news i.e. national TV when giving their individual speeches about why they joined PAP. Red Dot United, Singapore's newest political party, has revealed some candidates contesting in the five-member Jurong GRC. GE2020: Reform Party Gives Way to PSP to Avoid Three-Cornered Fight in West Coast

West Coast residents and all Singaporeans will remember the Reform Party for graciously giving up their ward to make things easier for PSP who is seeking to contest in West Coast GRC.
