[YOUR LETTERS] HOW COME ATTORNEY GENERAL CHAMBERS NEVER CHARGE CHC PASTOR TAN KIM HOCK FOR CONTEMPT OF COURT?

I am outraged when I saw a tweet by City Harvest Church Pastor Tan Kim Hock who posted "I ALSO NOTICED THAT UNDER THE SUN THERE IS EVIL IN THE COURTROOM. YES, even the courts of law are corrupt!" Isn't that contempt of court when the trials are ongoing? Singapore Courts have often use Contempt of Court to silence prominent PAP critics such as Alex Au and cartoonist Leslie Chew.

HE XIN LE: ALLOW EMERGENCY WITHDRAWAL OF CPF FUNDS FOR EMERGENCY CASES

My friend made the money in his CPF account when he had been a businessman. Given the chance, he would want to start a business again. There could be a withdrawal cap of between 10 and 20 per cent when the amount in reserve is above S$100,000. Let us move forward without leaving any citizen behind. Let us be an inclusive society for all Singaporeans.

[YOUR LETTERS] TRANSPORT AUTHORITIES FORCING SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS TO DISTRIBUTE FLYERS?

My son is a student in Ping Yi Secondary School. The school has asked my son and his friends to distribute flyers to the public at bus stops to raise awareness about the new feeder bus service 222 in Chai Chee. This is outrageous! Why do you need to use students to raise awareness of a profit driven organisation? Their exams are also around the corner. Why are the transport authorities so desperate now?

FORMER TOP SPY DULAN WITH FORMER PRESIDENT S R NATHAN

One would have expected the MediaCorp to have more commonsense and humanistic consideration when writing out a script for a narrative, especially one like the Laju Saga. Had it not occurred to the MediaCorp to carry out a more comprehensive interview covering all the parties involved before composing the script? In the Laju Saga it is obvious that important parties had been left out for whatever reason best known to MediaCorp. If it is not too much of a loss of face or a blemish on its pride, the MediaCorp should have the civility of sending a letter of apology to ISD for belittling its role in the Laju saga.

STOMPers: ARE YOU HAPPY NOW – SOLDIERS DON’T DARE TO SIT ON TRAIN

Look at this now. How do you feel now? Someone who paid for their train ride don't even dare to sit despite there being so many vacant seats. So what if we are soldiers, we are human too. We feel tired too. We are proud enough to wear the uniform out. But the very people we are protecting in some way or another are just finding all means to gun us down. Please have some compassion people, one day your family member or loved one will be in a tough situation too and I believe you wouldn't be pleased to see photos or videos of them being posted.

THE COE SYSTEM HAS BROKEN DOWN

I have observed how the disabled and elderly face difficulty in getting around with their family members, especially on rainy days when one can never get a taxi. We desire to be an inclusive society, but the ones who are truly dependent on private transport are often shut out. The roads have been prioritized for those who can drive big and flashy continental cars instead. Also, has the Government ever considered improving the fertility rate simply by giving priority of car ownership to parents with three or more children? If people want to aspire to the 5Cs, especially that of a car, let them achieve the 6th C of having more children first.

DEREK LOW: STOP THE ABUSE OF WOMAN CHARTER!

The Charter was enacted in the 1960s to protect the many housewives who were supported by their husbands. But times have changed. Our Government has encouraged women to join the workforce to be independent and contribute to nation building.I urge Singapore's modern women to take pride in who they are, what they do and the effort they have put into their marriages. But when the marriage fails, they ought to be logical and sensible, instead of making unreasonable demands under the outdated Charter.

PINOY: I WANT TO MOVE TO THAILAND AND STILL ENJOY SINGAPORE PR STATUS

I also still want to be Singapore PR and maintain (since I just renewed) the ability of me going in and out of Singapore for future business plans. Although, staying here means you must pay rental, get attached to expensive bills and cost of living. And I think even if I ask and plead my boss to increase my salary, I just think, I have reached to the point of the highest salary rate my career can offer. Not sure... but for me, the fast-paced life here is not something I dream of if I want to settle down with kids anytime soon.

[YOUR LETTERS] UPSET WITH GOVERNMENT SPENDING $4.4M TO WOO SINGAPOREAN QUITTERS

I also don't understand why our government would rather spend so much money trying to court these overseas "quitters' to come back than to improve the existing infrastructure and living conditions in Singapore so that lesser people will think of migrating overseas. Does the government value people with foreign educational background or work experience more than those with local experience? What does this say about the standard of our local workforce and educational institutions?
