Singapore General Election 2015

VOTE THE OPPOSITION TO CHECK PAP'S ABSOLUTE POWER

I have one uncomfortable question - IS PAP ABSOLUTE POWER GOOD FOR SINGAPORE ? Are we treating this election a game ?? No one in the right frame of mind would do that and disagree that we have come a long way to build this nation. So is the constructive opposition trying to tear down and ruin this country we call our home? All we want is to have a more robust debate from a constructive party that will held our policy maker in check and be accountable ...is that something wrong ?

154 MEDIA: WP CANDIDATE LUKE KOH HAS A DARK HISTORY WITH PPO FILED AGAINST HIM

The reader who spoke on condition of anonymity, felt the public should now that Mr Luke Koh, WP candidate for Nee Soon GRC had been arrested before in connection with an acrimonious divorce. TNP understands he was arrested on 16 Sept 012 after scaling the fence at his relative's landed property. An altercation ensured and the police were called in. Mr Koh had been attempting to gain access to his family, who were then living at the relative's home. He was subsequently given a police warning for criminal trespass and breaching a personal protection order (PPO), which had been taken out against him earlier.

12 REASONS WHY A PAP MELTDOWN IS BETTER THAN VOTING THE SHARKS IN AGAIN

Because the current government is so focused on international matters with zero/little focus on domestic issues. S'poreans are dying because domestic policies are seriously flawed. Without domestic, there is no international. Domestic issues come first before international matters. If Singaporeans are already starving (literally if you are jobless) from flawed domestic policies, there is urgency to address the domestic issues first, before moving on to international matters.

WHY ELECTION RALLIES FAVOUR THE OPPOSITION PARTIES

With each campaign period, we Singaporeans are elevated to God like status. This time around, it's no different. For 9 days, I have 89 people who are constantly whispering sweet nothings to me, trying their best to win my favour. Some are seasoned smooth talkers. Some are seasoned but they are much better off not talking. Some are just there to talk.

S'POREANS MUST HEED THE WORKERS PARTY CALL TO EMBRACE FOREIGN SPOUSES & HELP THEM INTEGRATE

Foreign spouses who are married to Singaporeans form a potential pool of talents. This is what WP has advocated and it is rightfully so. The present government (or previous one before the election) may not have clearly seen the need to integrate these foreign spouses, but we do recognize that they can bring our country forward in the same manner.

WHY CHEE SOON JUAN SHOULD BE VOTED INTO PARLIAMENT

Ever since Dr Chee Soon Juan made a comeback to the Singapore political scene, Singaporeans have experienced a breath of fresh air. After 15 years, this is a very much welcomed wind of change. All of us who have heard him speak during the rallies would agree that amongst the opposition today, no one is as eloquent or as passionate as Dr Chee about Singaporeans and our future.

THE GOVT HAS DONE WELL BUT I WILL VOTE OPPOSITION TO CHECK PAP

Whilst this has nothing to do with the G doing anything materially wrong (in fact they've done relatively well previously but had made some mistakes along the way, who doesn't make mistakes?) or that people should be more appreciative etc, I do not feel that we will be led down the right path somewhat if things continue the way they are. The trust-me-only-and-no-one-else-can-do-a-better-job attitude doesn't resonate with me at all.

12 FEARMONGERING SCENARIOS IF THE PAP IS VOTED OUT OF POWER

What are some of the knee jerk reactions if PAP is voted out of the government? Market will react, foreign funds will flee Singapore immediately, our currency will lose its value and our investments will drop. Do you think investors will risk their money and wait for the new government to prove itself? No investor like a politically unstable country. As soon as a whiff of a political unrest is detected, the ringgit went into a free fall.

SINGAPORE HAS A BAD TOOTHACHE THAT NEEDS TO BE EXTRACTED

Have you ever had a bad toothache that it affects your mood, your movements... constant bad headache... and whatever you do seems to go wrong. Perhaps, Singapore is having that bad toothache. Things seems to be going wrong every other day and bringing in foreign talent, foreign PRs and new citizens have failed to solve the painful reality of Singaporeans real daily livelihood. Here then perhaps the best way is to extract the tooth that is hurting the gum
