MOM INVESTIGATING CASE WHERE MAID FELL 7 STOREYS CLEANING WINDOWS

The maid, who is in her 20s, was reported to have been cleaning the windows of the unit at Carissa Park condominium at Tampines on Tuesday. MOM has banned maids from cleaning the outside of windows since 2012, unless they are physically supervised by their employer or by an adult representative of their employer.

The maid is reportedly recovering form her unspecified injuries.

ICA WARNS OF FAKE WEBSITE THAT PHISH INFORMATION

The ICA has warned the public that there is a fake website that disguises itself as ICA official page, but is actually a website phishing for visitors' visa reference numbers and passport numbers. The website has been named as singaporeonline-epass.com.

Members of the public have been advised that they should exercise caution by checking on the URL and Web address, so as not to become a victim.

Ms Vanessa Ho, director of sex workers' rights group Project X, believes increased police raids on unlicensed brothels in Geylang could have resulted in businesses moving to public housing. "We know a handful of sex workers who work out of HDB flats, and I estimate that there must be hundreds of such brothels," she said.

Enforcement action since January shows at least 82 women have been arrested for suspected involvement in vice activities within residential areas and units.

A 58-year-old man was sentenced to a jail term of eight weeks for causing a cat to suffer serious head and lung injuries, resulting in its death.

They were told to charge hourly fees of $300 to $600. The duo agreed to take a commission of either 25 or 30 per cent from these hourly fees for each client they secured for the escort. The monthly earnings of the social escort business ranged from $10,000 to $14,000.

UBER TO CHARGE PASSENGERS WHO MAKES THEIR DRIVER WAIT

The additional fee, to be paid to the driver, will be pro-rated according to when the passenger finally boards the ride. For example, if a passenger arrives 30 seconds after the wait-time charge kicks in, the fee will be 10 cents. Uber announced that this is to fulfill their aim of making riders and drivers have a smooth experience every time an Uber service is used.

Uber explained on its website that passengers will be sent a notification on their mobile devices when their drivers are reaching the location. It has advised customers to only make a booking when they are near the pick-up location. The 20-cent-per-minute charge applies to the UberX budget service.

SINGTEL FORGOT TWO APPOINTMENTS IN A ROW TO FIX HOME FIBRE

I went back home early without doing overtime, but it was a no-show and no-call from SingTel. The next day when I called them, they apologised and made another appointment at night to call me but it was yet another no-show. Exasperated, I called SingTel on the 3rd day to arrange for technicians to just come to my house for rectification on my fibre. This time they told me I would need to pay $60 if there is proved to be no problem on my fibre, without doing the phone check.
