News broke on The New Paper that two administrators behind The Real Singapore sociopolitical website were arrested under the sedition act over an article about the Thaipusam Incident which was compiled based on various eye witness accounts.
In response to mainstream media reports, The Real Singapore has issued a clarification stating that "some time in the future, we will be publishing a full story and explain clearly everything that we can share. This may also include how we work and who is behind the website but currently, as investigations are ongoing, such a full response would be inappropriate."
TRS administrators urged readers to beware of misinformation spread by state owned news outlets and clarified that only one editor was being investigated by the authorities. The said editor is cooperating fully with the police.
They also assured readers that investigations are only centered on one article and that other contributions were not part of the legal probe.
TRS conveyed their commitment to running the largest sociopolitical website with minimal interruption and thanked netizens for their support.
