In the wake of the recent arrests made at the Ramadan Bazaar in Geylang where illegal foreign workers were nabbed by the authorities, another Singaporean have been charged for hiring foreigners to work in night markets found all over Singapore.

Sao Wei Loon, 40 years old, was charged in court over hiring 19 Indonesian nationals without valid work passes to work illegally as stall assistants at three pasar malam or night markets last year. The illegal workers were hired to work from anything from three days to more than three weeks, and the offences were committed between June and September 2016.

No mentions were made on what happened to the illegal workers who were hired by Sao.
